@Geezay
My only point was to inform you that SE does have a phone with FM transmitter as you said SE don't have one yet...
I too would like to see in-built FM plus FM transmitter in as many SE phones as possible... I also think SE will keep it to their high end walkmans, atleast initially but will put in their mid range later on...

Forget S60 come on the blackberry bandwagon I was an avid preacher of S60 (still love it) but you have to love the back to simplicity of blackberry, but at the same time it has power apps incorporated. I shunned it for many years but finally glad I took the plunge.
On a side note are you in Harare now, whats the situation looking like for Saturday?

@ themarques - I certainly have not considered joining the blackberry bandwagon, but I will check it out. I am looking for a high end device that does everything!
Yes, I am in Harare. The mood is one of hope, excitement but one can't help but feel that not a whole lot is going to change after Saturday!

@geezay i would rather go for the n95 8gb, instead of n96 and its joke battery... i have n95 8gb atm, not that bad, at least it survives 24h, at my usage thats an ok result.
or any interest for the e series?

@Geezay, good choice. This is definitely not the time to buy a UIQ3 phone yet, especially not from SE.
I'm also considering N95 8 GB but I'll wait for a while longer, I'd like to see the time frame for their touch screen devices.

Econet is waiting for their application for a 3G license to be approved - been pending for about a year now. GPRS is up and running "in trial mode" pending approval of the application. Now here is the good part - trial is open to clienta who apply and it is free! Been enjoying it for over 6 months now!

I have both N95 (the original) and P1i and both have their +'s and -'s (for me, of course).
Nokia has good VoIP client built-in and its e-mail client works fine and it supports HSDPA (or whatever it is 3.5G with data transfer speed of several Mb/sec) but its battery does not lasts for even a couple of hours if you want to use these nice features (and it is really hot under such load). You cannot charge it through USB also (I know there is a cable but it is a separate story why it does not work).
P1i has touch screen and normal keyboard and its battery life is much better but it has no internal VoIP client (there's fring but it's not the same as native support) and its e-mail client gives me a headache.
So, there's no "perfect phone", probably.

Correct me if I am wrong but voip is not allowed in Zim yet? So that will be one function on the S60 that you might not utilize. I am glad to hear about the trial GPRS as I will be visiting there soon so thats great news. I am guessing there is no protocol in place though for MMS.
Have you tried to see how FRING or any other chat clients handles the gprs service and if you get a couple of minutes could I possibly ask you for the GPRS APN and the telephone number of who you rang to activate the trial GPRS. Many Thanks.

@ aaarkhipov - I hear you about the N95. I know Nokia addressed some of the issues with future releases and on the N95 8GB. I hope they are more responsive to customers complaints/suggestions/needs and have further addressed the issues in the N96. There is no perfect phone but some come closer than others!
@ themarques - there is no legislation against VOIP as far as I know and quite a number of organisations and individuals with broadband use it. I haven't tried it over GPRS because the speeds a bit on the slow side. Will give it a try though, definitely. I will send you a PM regarding who to contact to get your GPRS account activated.
