Guys I started a thread yesterday about having now tired out Nokia for the first and would have not if I had seen this one.

Separately though, I am now coming to realise that has less software available for their phone and even the Nokia PC suite seems to be far more better than what comes with phones. Imagine I didn't even know that a video converter came with the Nokia pc suite and on the other hand one has to hunt around for converters or pay for something that seemingly should come with such expensive phones.

Their phones are also coming in to too pricey and not holding their value.

Also, their ports are awfully silly and cumbersome. Their fastport is beyond silly and a joke.I just don't understand what is the problem in having a 3.5mm plug for music and their port for updating or just adding a simple mini USB.

Then you have their headsets which come with their expensive phones. I find that the headsets that come with the P's are insulting to the people who spend so much money with them. Then persons buy their walkmans which are less expensive but come with far better headsets. could send a bigger message than that?

@soane28
that's exactly how I feel!

Only I went with
motorola
(v8) not because of high
specs- that will be for
my next smartphone-
but because there's no
other phone out there
that's built like the v8,
absolutely solid and
amazing! I may still
come back to SE
provided the x1 is
stable. Come to think of
it, I'm more than
satisfied with my 3 year
old P910i that I still use.
That says a lot about
the 'old' Sony Ericsson.

Having been first an Ericsson then SE user since 1993, the P990 will probably be my last SE phone unless SE makes drastic improvements. Here's what they need to improve:
1- Technically SE devices are behind the competition. Gone are the glory days of the P900/910 when they had cutting edge technology envied by competitors.

2- SE has serious problems with the quality and management of their technical team. This clearly reflects on all their latest phone offering, smart and otherwise.

3- SE has pissed off a lot of users by abandoning firmware support for P990/M600 within a year, probably P1 support will stop soon.

4- SE's arrogant attitude and disregard for customer opinion is unrivaled.

5- Symbian + UIQ combination and the restrictions they impose on developers make it very hard to develop useful software. Developers state that there are a lot of undocumented APIs. It's almost as if SE doesn't want any software development for UIQ3 devices.

To be fair, this thread has not gone into an out and out SE hate, most people are merely stating what they think brand x has that they cannot get from SE.

Its fair to say that there are things Nokia, HTC with Windows Mobile, Apple, etc do better than SE, but thats not to say SE are terrible.

Take myself for instance. My three phones I juggled were the K850i, W960i and iPhone. I have settled on the iPhone because music has been the priority for me because I am a heavy train user (currently learning to drive at 24, not good). The iPhone has performed best in this regard, specifically gapless playback on my live albums. The one thing I have missed is a decent camera on the phone and I'm tempted to go back to using my W960i so I can have a 3.2mp auto-focusing camera and music functions in one device, but certain things annoy me about UIQ and thats probably what's stopping me going back!

I would like to give the Samsung i780 a try as I've generally got on quite well with Windows Mobile in PDA form (WM 6 on my Dell Axim works a treat) but the small screen is a factor!

I hate to choose! Each have their pros and cons.
