no volatile fluids, not alcohol, not even nail polishing remover (believe me, i use it to remove dirt from the circuitry a lot) can be used on the screen... even though i had an accident like that, and it left me with a very big stain on the backlighting of my old k750.... thanks to god it solved itself after a week without using the cellphone....

I would'nt recommend using displex on a touchscreen, the outermost layer what you see is the Digitizer, under the digitizer is the actual LCD, the digitizer is basically like a transparent keypad over the screen with tiny pressure points. What displex does is it removes a layer of the digitizer which might mess up the calibration a wee bit(if sufficent amounts of the digitizer is removed.).
IP is usually used in smally quantities after being applied onto a soft cloth to clean screens, touch or not at authorised Motorola and SE service centers, in excess quantity or on direct application it can irreparibly damage your LCD.

well... touchscreens are about 50 οΎ€ here ... anyway, I am aware of risk, therefore I decided to wait until the replacement for my dying backup phone arrives before trying to polish P990 ... Thank you for your answers ! + What is "IP" ?

Iso-Propyl Alcohol. But that basically removes the dirt and grease, not scratches.

Hi, I use pirated screen protector which costs USD3 and its very durable and scratch proof. The USD15 original screen protector is the worst and numerous scratches within 1 week and after cold temperature, I peeled off the entire cover. It's so lousy.
