Knew it wouldn't work on a k800, surely it should work on a k850 though?
Definitely works on a W910.
I know you can still open it in the ringtone folder, but if you have sub folders in there, people would get bored Fast lol

Why do you wanna hide yo pictures in the media player?
Or you have some stuff to hide from a girl

?
I think SE must introduce the code to protect the folders

You can use a java app such as mini-commander or moby explorer to change file extensions on the phone itself, or you can do it via the computer.
Just an FYI; SE's J2ME developer site stated any app can be coded to NOT have data from the camera saved to be shown in the Media Manager
(cannot find it at the moment).

If it works in W910 then I'd say it would work in K850 too.

Your just like me, I have a W890 with the same A200 platform media player and I want some pics to show in the file manager only and not the media player. We can already hide folders through J2ME with apps like the lovely MobyExplorer. But even when we hide the folder the jpg files can still be read from the media player (the media player periodically scans every folder in the phone).
EDIT -- BOSSHOGG's idea worked

All ya gotta do is simply move the image files or folder of images into the
Ringtones folder which is inside the Music folder and that's it...
Anything in the ringtones folder is not be read by the media browser. Further more to prevent someone from viewing the images if they stumble upon the ringtones folder you can simply 'Hide' the file or folder with MobyExplorer
happy 4 now

Another bad thing for me now... within the Ringtone's folder I cannot set it to thumbnail view, there is no option so I am stuck with the images only as list view
that's another thing that could be overcome somehow
