If you can install applications then the PCSuite and m-router are working fine.
Have you formatted+flashed your phone? It may be a malformed item in your phone that's causing the problem.
Also make sure that you are using the latest version of the PCSute from SE's website, older ones will cause a lot of problems for you on Vista.

yes, I formatted the C: drive, but not reflash. but I can not understand how this would help.
When I did the reflash, I first synced with my work laptop (with works just fine). And than with my home laptop. (which didn't work).
I use PC Suite 1.5.8, the latest.
I also tried to sync for just one day ahead and zero to the past, or just contacts.
Only tasks will sync somehow, surprisingly. If there are contact or agenda items causing the problem, is there anyway I can single them out and delete them?

Reflashing the phone will help in that when you format, it simply reloads the file system as it was after the previous flash, so if there was an error in that then it will still be there.

One thing, should you choose to do this, is to delete the contents of SEUS's 'db' folder first, as this will force it to download a fresh copy of the firmware from SE.

With regard to Outlook, have you tried creating a new user account on your pc, then attempting to sync whilst being logged into that, make sure you do an advanced sync that overwrites the pc btw. This will test wether it's the data store for your account within outlook that's causing the issue, as by using a new account, outlook will create an entirely new set of .pst files for it. Also, so there are no issues with user permissions, make sure your new account is 'administrator' level.

Once again - I hope this helps

I also found this in the readme that comes with the latest version of the pcsuite:

Sync Manager
Outlook
SYMPTOM: Synchronisation is not possible after disconnecting the computer from the network.
SOLUTION: Outlook must be restarted in "offline" mode.

It would take a lot of work to reflash my phone, so I postphone that one. Also the phone works OK with my work laptop, so I don't think it can be the phone.
I tried most of the time to do a full sync and overwrite the PC, I also started with a fresh pst file. This did not help.
I have also read that remark in the read me, but I use pop mail from outlook. But I will give it a try to stop the auto receiving during syncing.

Most of the times it's Outlook's fault. I've changed 4 phones and 4 laptops til now and everytime I found OTHER way to sync. That's not normal. This time it's not working anymore...

Well,
I finally solved this.
I used the new PhoneExplorer 1.7 and found out my phone contained nearly 3000 copies of one repeated aganda items scheduled at 00:00.
When I deleted these, all worked and synced fine again!

So, if you have problems syncing, use the excellent PhoneExplorer to find what the problem is.
