@Stepan
Are you sure it wired correctly to the ignition sense wire?
Or maybe your Bluetooth is set to "Automatic" and this is causing it not to stay connected? Mine is set to "On" all the time and it works fine!
I will try to change some settings on mine to replicate the problem!
If you've not had your firmware updated on the phone then i would recommend this also!

annouced here mean we mention the ppl we want to call or the car kit mention the caller name in your phone book when tht person call you??? I was thinking he is talking about the latter....tht might cost more than the price we get now hehehe.
voice dialling and those magic word should be working but sometimes if the bluetooth operation mode on the phone is automatic.....then those function might not work.

Stepan.
For the phone to announce the name , it should be recorded with your voice in your phone , i mean , same as voice dialing , for example when you use voice dialing you should record the name tag , so when you want to make a call using voice dialing you say the name .
Same is use to announce the name , if the number has a voice tag then you should hear it trough the hands free , but you need to activate it , for example in my t39 you go to, settings, voice control , voice settings, caller name , activate it.
With this you can hear the callers name trough the hf, with the voice tag that you recorded .
BUT YOU NEED TO HAVE A VOICE TAG !!!!!, other wise you'll hear nothing.
You can even tested , for example , save your home number , and ad voice tag for example " Home", so , when you call from home you'll hear your voice saying "HOME" trough the phone with out the carkit,.
Hope it helps !

I Have voice tags activated in my T68 but when it rings it only plays the tag through the phone and thus you can only hear it when stationary with no car radio playing etc!

For anybody intrested i got this reply back from SE -
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson.
Regarding your enquiry concerning your T68 handset, as requested by find response to question below.
1. I must advise you that current no Bluetooth system that Sony Ericsson have release is compatible with the feature of Magic Word, however we believe that this feature will be include in future model of handset coming soon such as the P800.
2. The voice tag system on this handset was no designed to go through any speaker system, it was designed to supply a simple play back through the handset only.
3. In order to change your handsets ring tones please select settings, sounds and alerts and ring signals.
Please contact us again if we can be of further assistance and visit our website at

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Sums it all up really except for the fact that i point 3 is wrong because no matter what ringtone i choose for the phone it will not change the way the HF rings!
Also what i don't get is why point 2 SE says caller name was only designed to come through the phone speaker! But @
J@TC says that it works on his T39?

Strange sorry if i gave the wrong idea, i was telling stepan , what was written in my manual , it says that "You can choose whether you want to hear the recorded voice command for a name when you receive an incomming call , from the contact."
In regards to the magic word , in the manual clearly states "You can record a magic word and use it as a voice command to allow totally handsfree access to voice control. INstead of pressing and holding yes , you say the magic word and then one of your recorded voice commands . THE MAGIC WORD IS SPECIALY SUITABLE WHEN DRIVING A CAR WITH A CAR HANDS FREE KIT INSTALLED , BECAUSE YOU USE EXTERNAL POWER INSTEAD OF THE BATTERY POWER OF YOUR PHONE .YOU CAN ALSO USE THE MAGIC WORD WHEN THE PHONE IS CONNECTED TOA PORTABLE HANDSFREE."

Strangely + others
1. I resolved the issue with "disconnecting" from the BT - it actually does not disconnect completely, just the green light goes off when call is finished, or when the BT is not in active operation for a while (this happens despite the fact that the BT operation is set to Always On in the handset)
2. the lack of announcement of incoming caller name through the BT kit was a negative surprise for me (of course I have it turned on in the handset and nametags are recorded on the handset). For some reason I considered this to be a sure feature.
3. I am also disapointed with the lack of the functionality of magic word command - I am having hard time getting used to holding down the green button long enough to get the voice dial started - it is annoying especially when driving in the city when I have to change gears and meanwhile I find my right hand occupied with holding down the stupid button long enough to get the call going.
4. I disagree with the argument that the magic word can't be used, because the phone would have to permanently be listening through the HF and the phone battery would drain too fast. As a user I don't mind fast draining battery - I can always charge the phone in the car if I know I will be driving too long or I can disable the feature in the phone if I don't want to take advantage of it. Again, I expected SE to include the magic word feature.
5. My manual for the bluetooth writes about being able to use more than one handset. For example, when the user has 2 bluetooth phones (which I have T39 and N6310) that are both paired with the HCB-30 and he receives an incoming call on any of those two phones, the ringing phone should connect to the HF, allowing the user to receive the phone in the HF. Of course this is not working for outgoing calls - there the last paired phone is prefered. However with the above combination T39 and 6310 the above described does not work at all. I am not sure if its because of Nokia or if it is another of the features that are different than what is described. I would appreciate if anybody gets this feature working.
Regards,
Stepan

@ stepan
Do you have a problem with voice answer?
I have the advanced mute kit also and find that when the HF rings that the stereo only mutes in-between rings and it is only when muted that the voice answer works for me, so i have to time it just right in the quiet period while the stereo is muted.

@ strangely
I don't have the advanced mute harness, but use something supplied by the car manufacturer and it also mutes the car only between rings. I will try your 'timed answer' tommorrow... thanks for the tip.
