Hello everybody,my opinion is,that european market is<was?> quality,japanese market is quantity.
My favourite brands for ex:ericsson,b&o,loewe,blaupunkt etc
Japan is the biggest copymashine on earth,honour their history&tradition,not the economy

DSF, Ericsson teamed up with Sony because they were losing money out of handset manufacturing! They were not having ANY income after the T28 disaster!

i think that ericsson will improve thier mobile phones with sony powerfull technology.... its clear that sony have very powerfull tech in display devices , computers " i.e. the powerfull vaivo laptops " & sound systems......in the otherhand ericsson was a regular mobile phone company and it was in a very week postion infront of the nokia mobile phones....
But now after their very sucssefull marriage they produce the best mobile phone now " P 800 " which u can feel the sony touch on that phone.....
For me SE well be the best mobile phones in the world after a very short period

I think you will find that its Sony that will pull out. If Sony are such a rich company, they haven't got that money by holding onto failing companies. Most people here seem to be Pro-Ericsson. I'm neutral enough to remember that there have been some very gloomy outlooks in news stories about Ericsson's finances and future sucess.
This is backed up by a chance meeting with one of the product designers for Vertu, and his friend who writes 3G applications, who told me things along the same lines.
I hope that SonyEricsson stay a good company, as compared to most other phones on the market, the P800 is quite a leap in phone technology... so lets hope there is more to come from the SonyEricsson stable.

The situation kept on beeing bad after the t28 anyway and i am sure err would've dropped the mobile dept shortly.p800 won't change the situation cuz its a hi-end phone,expensive..sony is making the diff.

DSF, 320 was too big, t66 had so many problems with signal and battery, t65 froze too often and one could not remove the battery! For us gadgetfreaks, the T39 was excellent but for the hundreds of millions of ordinary users it was slooow, especially with sms, had an unwanted flip and antenna, and most of those potential buyers ended up buying a f*****g 3310! How can one pay-off past debts under such circumstances?:-(
