I don't think there is any SE phone with optical zoom, are they?

In japan there are. I think the so905ics has it, but I'm not 100% sure.

It has 3x optical zoom, 5MP resolution and LED flash for the camera, and an LCD WVGA screen. If only it came out internationally it would have been a bestseller...

Instead of investing in this stupid thing, why can they improve the sensor or get some Optical-zoom in the phone? Not some stupid move back and forward thing. No one even uses the Digital zoom feature you might as well edit it later on photoshop. The only useful things the zoom buttons are for are for turning the music volume up and down and check the clock when the phone is locked. No need in this stupid thing honestly.
Anyway until SE get off their backsides here is something you can use just now:

I almost was about to buy this ages ago, but my senses told me not to. Just look at the damage it would do to the sides of your phone...no thank you. I want my K850i to look as pretty as ever.

What's the point of this actually? Just another gimmick..
Combating the accusations of a lack of innovation perhaps?
I think these ideas are great and show smart thinking is alive and well in SE.
I've always liked how SE phones can be setup and adjusted to the user with multiple shortcuts, toolbars, custom ringtones, themes and third party apps like Opera mini and MyPhoneExplorer. Now it appears the phones will take recognising user movements to the next level, past that of Pedometer and ShakeMe. I think it's a good thing.
To tell you the truth, i think it's a gimmick also. I mean be realistic se is waisting development time on a simple zoom function feature when they have more than a hand full of phones with software issues undelt with to this day.`Zooming in manually is perfectly fine and i dont see no problem with it what so ever. The idea is just as useful as an automatic mailbox opener. I see this bringing up problems. I mean se sells prone to brick phones and now there going to waist time with a zoom function?!$#%& Hope they put alot of time behind this technology before release or it will be somthing most users will be disabling.
EDIT
I can see it all right now Plank takes a picture of his kids while a bus moves in the background and the automatic zoom focuses on somthing like the bus wheel. Then Plank post the pic up and boast how its so cool when theres no logical sence behind it.

“Sony Ericsson released its 5M camera phone ‘Cybershot SO905iCS’ in Japan market, which is equipped with Sony’s Exmor CMOS sensor, 3X optical zoom lens and LED flash. Featuring face detection function and smile shutter mode, it adopts 2.7-inch LCD with 480 x 864(WVGA) resolution and microSD card slot.”
This is the best phone I have ever seen. And it's not new phone - soon it will be one years old. C905 looks like bad copy of this phone.
