Well, I have R1B and I thought everything was ok, but then I went to the service menu and did the microphone test and a loud peeping noise started....which I think means that the microphone is too sensitive....
So, I guess I have the same problem as you guys... I think it's a bit lame of

not to notice this themselves in the beginning

I have R2B now and the mic works fine with me! I had a document printed by ericsson here in Greece that was ment for the Ericsson Servive Points and they stated clearly that R2B is mostly a fix of the mic sensitive than just adding another game (naval fleet). I am pleased with R2B and the behaviour of my mic. At least Ericsson is trying to fix the problem.

MY experience is with R1B even if I use HLH15 bluetooth headset the problem still the same.. People still complain my background noise..
Same question, how true the firmware R2A will fix the problem..

Hi folks,
This may be a stupid question, but where can I go and how do I go about getting R2B loaded on my T68? I keep seeing that everyone has upgraded, but no indication of how.
I have the same microphone problem with my T68 (no one can hear me, especially if there's background noise) and need to fix it soon.
Thanks,
Al

Cool. Thanks Cytel!
I called Sony Ericsson and the only way to do it here in the USA is to mail the phone to them and have them work on it. It takes about 10 days for them to get it, fix it, and send it back. So...no phone for a while.
Later.
