Then maybe you need to read a bit more as it seems not just the VodaFone or O2 versions have some niggles but also some unbranded ones to.
Well, must be very few, as I haven't read any up to now.
But are you sure that those are niggles of the phone ?
I'm using WM 6.1 myself and I have never ever had any crashes on my TyTN II.
So it's either
1. SE stuff (less likely)
2. operator stuff
3. user stuff
which causes these instabilities.
And I would say that it's either 2 or 2 & 3.
We should not forget that X1's current user base almost only consists of WM newbies, who either don't know what they're doing and/or install loads of crap on their phones.

I got my X1 branded from O2.
Not a single restart, crash, hang, slowdown...what so ever. I've been installing and uninstalling a lot of applications...up until this moment. ....

Exactly. X1 may be manufactured by HTC, but it has nothing to do really with the devices developement and construction.
Plus some applications are also of SE's origin, so they're really different devices (HTC and SE).
Anyway, all comes from China!
I also agree, there are so many newbies in the X1 area, that half of the problems are caused by that. Like people wanting to install Adobe Flash 7
makbil,
WHY wouldn't be X1 included in upgrades???
As I follow the xperia forums, it generally appears as a great device, without any signs of P990 (sad) story.

Must give my 2p worth. Ive had a tytn ll for a while but dont use it because of its size, its too big so I still use my p1 as my day to day phone. WM is ok once you get used to it and if like me youve been on since the p800 it takes some getting used to.
I use the tytn for gps and wireless opera Surfing. The fast processor and big screen will make for a great XpeRiance I,m sure.
Ill definitely be getting an X1 when they become a bit more affordable .

@ doministry
Completely OT but since you mentioned it...
HTC is a Taiwanese company and Taiwan (in the current geopolitical reality) is not a part of China (which in its normative use refers to the PRC/Mainland China).

Of course I know!
I was just saying everything in the world is manufactured in China! From Tshirts to electronics.
But, HTC is manufactured in Taiwan, yes??
