Great news, especially when it was 'doomed to fail' by some reviewers.
That was MR. They are a bit biased, IMO

i think what plays into sony ericssons arms, is the current economic crises. people don't have the money to buy expensive phones, but currently se's portfolio has several nice phones in a good price range.
this is going to pay off next year especially.
so after all, a "bad" 2008 line up could make sony ericsson a bigger player again ... lets wait and see

Im going to put a damper on things.
The only reason why the C905 is at the top of the charts is that all the networks have being buying the stock, so this would put it higher than the others.
However one thing you have to notice, With all the other SE phones they general always sold out very fast and it was difficult in getting hold of the handset for a few weeks.
The c905 hasnt had any problems at all, no network has sold out and none of the networks have over stocked on the handset.
SE also havnt pushed the phone hard due to the failure of the SE K850i huge returns, so SE are careful with this phone.
The only way we can really tell if the c905 is a huge hit is if it stays at the top for a month or so, or will another handset top it ?

Where is your proof of this? The information has come from an independent source and by saying this you're implying they calculate SE's sales different to the other manufacturers.

On the contrary, the C905 is crucially important to SE, especially with the year it has had, so much so that they have two advertising campaigns running concurrently:
Sony Ericsson announces launch of two C905 campaigns hardly underselling wouldn't you agree?
Its true that the manufacturers calculate their respective sales differently and I remember reading a few years ago the SE's figures are calculated on actual sales and not on Inventory, which is the way Samsung does it.
However, the organisation responsible for the data in the article appears to be independent.
The market for 8.0MP camphones is very competitive and the C905 won't be the runaway success like say the way K800i was - it was No1 in the UK charts for over 6 months.

Nice news. In the rare case that I can get it for cheap on my upgrade next year, I'll get one even though the camera is of no use to me.

Well, I hope SE opens their drowsy eyes and see that being a leader(arguable as it is) in at least 1 area (camera) and being affordable enough is needed for some hype and a lot of sales, not half past six devices with no particular selling point. If they are seen as a leader in camera technology, even their lesser cybershot devices will start selling like hot cake, bought by those who can't afford the flagship
