This is more of a network problem then it is a problem with the phone.
On my T mobile tariff, MMS messages come out of my Flext allowance, and unlike normal texts, MMS is free to send throughout europe. One text message costs 10p, and one MMS costs 20p, however the MMS can be of almost unlimited length. So if a text message was to come up to 30p or more, it is cheaper for me to send an MMS. All the charges come out of my £180 monthly allowance. Also, my mobile broadband allowance allows inclusive use of HSDPA, Wifi, VOIP and phone as computer modem.
Basically, everysingle thing I can do on my phone is free of charge, but the problem is they make you pay for voicemail. Simple solution though - I dont use my voicemail, I ask everyone to send me text messages or email only. No matter what I use, I cant get my bill to exceed my monthly allowance.

It is not a network problem and it is a phone "feature". Even my G705 behaves in such a way and I'm not on orange network. It is very irritating when I want to text a big group of people.

I don't think it's a bug, it's intentional IMO.

To me, this feature is beneficial on my network and I wouldnt count it as a bug. The only bug is people who dont have MMS capable handsets and that send me back a message saying they cant recieve the MMS.
When I said this is a network problem, I meant being charged for sending MMS is a network problem. I seriously dont understand why people are still on Orange these days, minutes and unlimited texts tariffs are beyond useless when phones today have so many more features. I just wonder why I havnt yet found one other person that enjoys using MMS messaging - it is because your networks dont include it in your tariffs. A phone deciding to send MMS when a message gets too large or you send too many is, on my contract, a very helpful feature.
