I guess DEAF always keeps his phone close to his mouth so that he doesn't need a microphone on the headphone wire, or maybe he only uses his phone for listening to music and never for phone calls?

I'm really not too interested in a 3.5mm jack. I reckon it would be rather annoying and come out too easily, I've saved a few phones by grabbing the headphones before the phone has hit the floor!
