Guys, put your battery complaints into perspective. If your using the P800 like a PDA...compare it's battery life to a PDA... The Clies last about 12 hours under the same use (that's without surfing!!!)... P800 gives me more than 24 hours.
If you use it as a phone, compare it to a phone. Flip closed, or Virtual Flip enabled, I get 3 days.
Be reasonable. The P800 has a 1000mAh battery. The T68i had 750mAh.
The iPaq screen is only 32 pixels wider...that's only about 12% wider than the P800...but the iPaq only has 4 HOURS of usable battery life.
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR P800 BATTERY IF YOU GET ONE FULL DAY OF HEAVY USE!

I'd recommend the P800 for people who OCCASIONALLY need a PDA. It has the basic functions...with a good level of upgradability.
For the people who need specific applications on certain PDAs, stick with a mobile+PDA combo.
I never owned a PDA cuz I never really needed it's full capabilities. I had a Clie NV70 for a while.. I just used it for PIM and games... everything the P800 can do.
If you need certain 3rd party apps... or are used to your current PDA OS... I would hold out for whatever comes after the T68i to pair your PDA with.

$900 is really expensive for it. I have a friend who sells it at PHP38,000 open line. But he only ships P800 by orders only because it's too expensive. I suggest you wait for the price to come down because colored phones will have a stiff competition this year.

i've been using the p800 for almost a week now. at first, i thought i preferred my good old t86m (upgraded to 'i'), which i still love very much and will never sell. but by the 3rd day, i finally concluded that the p8 is just such an absolutely fantastic device, and has no real rival.
as many people have already said, it is not for everyone. people have different needs. but for me, it has all i need from a pda. plus, its data and communication functions are truly first rate. pop3 email, internet (wap ,www, etc.) are flawless.
ultimately, i would rather compromise a little bit on pda functions than on datacom. that's what 3rd party developers are for, anyway. besides, when the going gets rough and real heavy duty apps are needed, i much prefer working on my laptop than on a pda.
on battery life, you can easily discharge the battery in a day if you never stop fiddling with it. (a very easy thing to do because aside from all it can do, it really is a great toy!
) but normal use and still quite a bit of fiddling, 1 1/2 to 2 days seems to be the average, which i think is pretty good, considering...
having said that, i found that my girlfriend's palm 505 can discharge in about 4 hours from just playing simple games! no gprs, bluetooth, sms, mms, digital cam or voice calls there! so just keep it in perspective.
as for size, some people say it's way too big. true, it is much bigger than many phones today. (remember when the nokia 2110 first came out and it seemed like quite a compact unit?
) but then it's still smaller than a pda. and actually, after about a day, i thought that the size was actually quite comfortable.
my gripes? i really think they could have done a much better job on the quality of the keypad. you have to press the keys quite hard sometimes. (no driving and texting with this phone!
) and no t9, as many have already said. but then, its actually much more fun to write sms messages with the stylus, so i can kinda understand SE's thinking that maybe t9 wasn't necessary.
the p800 i'm using is actually a borrowed unit. i am fortunate enough to have been able to borrow it for a week. i figured that the p800 isn't cheap so i wanted to be very sure before i put down my hard-earned cash.
so what do i really think after after almost a week's use? amazingly, even after almost a week of almost non-stop playing with it, you still learn something new about what it can do every day. so now, for myself at least, i can surely say it's a question of 'when', not 'if'!
@jplacson where can i access the live cams of ny, london, paris that you mentioned in an earlier post? thanks!

Thats how I feel bought my Siemens S55, lots of ppl are slaggin of its screen! but I couldnt care, the phone for me is light 85g has loads functions, GPRS, Bluetooth, MMS Java, Wap, Dictator v.command camera! the price was good £269 from Phones4U, C.Warehouse its £379 *Grr* kak shop lol
