This is not a bug , the zoom is meant to be disabled at higher resolutions for a few reasons, first digital zoom is rubbish at max resolution, the sony digi cams work the same way the resolution gets smaller the more you zoom in it's called smart zoom on the digicams so you get a good quality digital zoom pic, second reason is C510 is only a lowend phone se have reserved the full zoom for the higher end phones.

@ number1: Humm...well in some mobile sites, it states the C510 as a "mid-range" phone so therefore the functions should be available like on the K810.

May be Sony Ericsson may have to decided to "cut-back" some C510 features properly to save money and make it affordable hence a "budget" phone.

But whether the phone is either a budget, mid or high-end range, i think the most used features should still be available on the handset.

Mid range then, the K810 was high-end when it was first released, se reserve certain features for there high-end phones.

@ number1: I still have my old T610 and W800 as well. I'm not sure which "class" they would be rated in!

I guess that is what they have done then which in turn can put off some long-term Sony Ericsson users as they would have the same "expections" that would carry onto the new Sony Ericsson handset models.

Like i already said hopefully in time Sony Ericsson may change the software and add the control to the "zoom feature" in a new update due to other C510 users also complaining aboout the same issue.

However, i still would say that the C510 is still an excellent phone and would rate it 8.5 out of 10 due to the issue with the digital zoom function not available in 3-1MP modes and lack of Xenon flash light.

Well, at least the c510 is a fairly balanced phone with good features you would find in a much more expensive phone.
the c510's a keeper, though it lacks the xenon flash that we all enjoyed with the K series.. ehheheh
