The ultra sophisticated Argos Catalogue used the T280 codename instead of the model number

I thought this may be of interest to a few people here. Sony Ericsson's codenames are now becoming so well known that companies are picking them up and using them in their advertising. I thought these names were supposed to be secret!

It's an interesting ploy. I can only guess that someone at NZ or Telecom has been eavesdropping on our conversations... and now they're trying to attract the SE geeks away from VodafoneNZ by using subtle recognition techniques. A smart idea IMO, are you tempted?

Sort of. I'd sooner buy a phone from Telecom than Vodafone, but that's probably because of the price difference. I had the same idea that they might be reading Esato, and who knows? They might! They'll need to be reading somewhere to find out about these newfangled mobile phones with their "simcards" and their "HSDPA".

Either that or they took their advertising from a geeky website that mentioned the codename, and so Telecom just went with it, not knowing any better (ie. They know nothing about the phones at all).

i just confirmed... no other big provider is using code-names...
so it must be some esato geek up at their advertising department who's got all salivated and drooling over watching girls name along with SE phones... after all both are SEXY

i rather hope if SE is going to market this names [looks impossible] cause while addressing new phones, se already announces their code-names.... and later their names....
i hope se chooses kooler names, if it ever does...
