Thanks, Tranced and everyone else.

I remember back in the day, when I got a new phone it would connect to the carrier and the first time I turned it on, it received a text message that included the configurations for my phone. Will this be possible after I debrand it? What I mean is, once I put the SIM on and turn the phone on, will it be able to connect to the carrier immediatly or will I have to fiddle with at least some part of the configuration manually?

Orange Dominicana sends automatically some sms with the gprs, mms, email settings. call your operator and ask them if it's possible with them.

They do send those config MMS but what I'm getting at is this: Once I debrand the phone, put the SIM back on and turn it on, will it be able to connect to my carrier automatically so that I can receive those config MMS?
