My previous posts still apply and are correct. Perhaps such data were stored in Exif data formerly. I have a G705 and I can't see any GPS data but still Picasa will show me the coordinates.
I'm only trying to help but you're just sticking up to your own idea. How am I going to deal with that? G'luck

It's not "my idea" the problem has been documented in that other thread.
The data is NOT being written. It's not viewable in Picassa, or anywehre else, because it doesn't exist. I'm a frikken software developer, I've taught myself the EXIf standard in the last couple of days. I know how to malipulate and view the raw hex of the entire JPG file.
The problem is the phone DOES NOT WRITE THE DATA. Period. End of. I can give you any number of my "geotagged" photos I've taken, and ask you to find the data if you're convinved I'm just not viewing it correctly.
It writes CELLID data - which is totally different to the GPS-84 data it should be writing.

Picasa is reading the cell id info not the gps info. Other services such as flickr, or software such as adobe bridge, read GPS data, which is more accurate than cell id info and also happens to be the STANDARD for geotagging and imho the phone ought to support proper geotagging.
Your posts are still correct in and of themselves, but they do not contribute to a solution as to why the phones are not recording GPS data in the EXIF tables as they should.
