My personal experience was, that gsm signal (1900) is quite poor in the states. But i was in a roaming and sms messages were free of charge worldwide!

You guys are so funny!
In the USA they Have a GSM network at 1900 Mhz.
So every GSM phone from Europe which is TriBand that means it support GSM 900/1800 and 1900 Mhz.
Those phones are working in the US Market.
All the others phones who are not GSM they just not work with the GSM network.You dont need a adapter!
Also a new GSM network starts in the US at 850 Mhz but is so difficult to fint a 850Mhz phone right now...
That companies wich are GSM in the USA are
T-Mobile (The best you can find there) GSM 1900
Cingular GSM 850/1900
AT&T GSM 1900

I imported my P800 from Europe to the States and it works just fine. Any unlocked tri-band (900/1800/1900) GSM phone will work just fine in the States.

I read somewhere that the phone and browser are locked to Orange. Can anyone confirm?
