Will this also mean Carphone will sell them on Orange too I wonder? Lots of questions from people. Lets hope if they offer it on pay as you go too that Orange offer a better data tariff cos on their pay as you go data is unlimited but at 5 per WEEK

At last! But it's only good news if it brings the price down. Which it might not. Also, still waiting for the 3gs in 8gb.

Orange have already had the iPhone for some time in other countries and not branded it in any way, so I don't see why they would in the UK, especially when they're going up directly against unbranded O2 phones. I doubt Apple would ever allow it, I'm pretty sure it's a precondition of any and every carriage agreement they strike.

I've no particular problem with O2 and not much of a fan of Orange, but if this helps to bring down the 3GS pricing a little then I'm all for it. It's almost certainly good news for my upgrade next year.

Same here as long as my upgrade is a good deal i not bothered who has it. O2 have 99% of the time been perfect for me

To be honest. Most likely the data will slow down on Orange when they get the iphone. O2's data speed in my opinion was good, and then it slowed with the Iphone. So I see the same happening with Orange, unless they invest in more in the data part of the network.

Orange have good data tariffs on pay monthly now. On tariffs over 30 its either 500mb included or an extra 4.89 for unlimited data. On tariffs under 30 its 4.89 for 500mb or 9.79 for unlimited. So its not bad we shall see what they offer with the iphone

Bonovox to be honest i believe voda and orange will offer similar type tariff's to o2 for the iphone. i am sure i have read some where, where the iphone is on more than 1 network in other places the networks have all offered similar deals. i guess this is because the amount the networks have subsidized the handset costs from Apple. So we will wait and see, however 95% sure it will be similar prices to be honest, and the main contributing factor of switching to a relevant network in the UK for iphone would be based on network speed for data and customer service etc.

Yes I guess your right. I am on Orange and although I dont want an iphone though it does look nice I would choose Orange. Their network for me is always reliable rarely I get problems 3G coverage is superb everywhere I have been even in small seaside towns. And also their tariffs and data plans imo are as good as any. Plus Orange by far have the clearest call quality of all networks as far as I am concerned which is important to me. Vodafone is horrible call sound and I am just fussy Even though the networks may have similar data tariffs I think the price of the iphone should come down. Or it should be free on cheaper tariffs. I noticed the 3GS is free on 75 per month tariffs on O2 and imo thats over the top price for something not really all that special. Other phones offer more I am only discussing this cos I wish to. I dont think ANY mobile phone is worth the price of 2 year contracts as the price of the phone is by far less the the full price of the contract. Its all one big rip off imo To me the iphone is just an ipod touch with phone functions slapped on its not that special. Yes I know the interface is great and it has useful apps but its still not enough for me to sign up. I would rather buy it on pay and go.
