Try a factory reset then use sygic or ndrive these both work sweet on my satio, also if you hack your phone with Helloox2 you can use ovi maps from nokia.

Agree, and I find Nokia Maps to work best on my Satio. Just hack your phone to be able to install Nokia Maps, then google how to transfer maps without Nokia Map Loader (since Map Loader wont recognize your phone because its a Sony Ericsson). Nokia Maps is just brilliant!

I figured out how to make it so, it recognized mine

I just have small problem with both Garmin XT and Nokia Maps, sometimes when I navigate the map ( not turn by turn navigation, just moving and zooming the map ) the software is stuck then not responding, regular way of shutting down any application won't work ( hold the middle button till the running app's list shows > hold the app you want to shutdown > choose end ) I think coz this method will order the app to end, but in this case the app isn't responding

the only and fastest way I use to end both apps is to force it to end by ejecting the memory card by
- pressing the power botton ( the top one ) only one time so a list will appear
- scroll down to the end, the last option is to remove the card; so choose it
- it will tell you this will end some programs
- confirm ( all programs will be forced to end )
- a message will tell you to remove the card and press ok, just ignore it and press ok
- memory card will be redetected again

First I thought it was only from Garmin XT, but after I installed Nokia Maps it turns to be Satio problem as it related to the way these programs render the map...

Does Nokia Map gives a turn by turn navigation ? Or do I need a professional navigation software ?

Can anyone help me pls.

I installed NDrive and it did not load the map.

I tried installing OviMaps and it loaded the maps. However, since then it is not able to detect GPS signal.
When I go to Location > GPS data > Position... it says Waiting for GPS even if I am standing outside.

Any idea what may have gone wrong or what I need to do now.
FYI, I have kept NDrive and OviMaps both on the phone. Can it be a problem ?

Any help is appreciated.

there where reports of people having problems after the firmware update, the fix was to do a factory reset and reinstall the update via seus, this corrected the problem, I understand that the update method using seus changed grom the early release in that it didn't reset the phone - now it does, perhaps this is the reason

@panties:
it's E:citiesdiskcachevoices

ofcourse E: is the microSDHC

@dipb:
one of main problems in Satio is the long waiting time for GPS signal and sat' locking, in perfect conditions it take only 1 - 3 minute's but sometimes it take longer may even go for 10 - 20 mintues and sometimes I reach my distination ( after several wrong turns or stuck with traffic ) and there no sat' lock !!

some times I find that Garmin XT is a little bit faster with locking, and BTW if you already locked in any app. then ending it and going to another one will guarntee fast locking again ( only seconds ),,, I tried that several times with built-in GPS apps, Garmin XT and Nokia Maps, never tried Sygic/NDrive thought... Both I won't test as they don't have any map for my country ( Sygic don't even have my region !! ) I heard about Road 66 but it still not supported for S60 5th edition...

EDIT : gharknes1 posted a reply while I was writing...
@gharknes1:
I don't have any problems with GPS ( except the long waiting time ) but I have with Picasa Web Album as with all those who updated thier phone...

Probably you were right Xajel. I tried again this afternoon and found that GPS Data and OviMaps can detect the satellites. As you said it took around 2-4 mins to lock in on 5 satellites. Thats good and I need not restore to factory settings as that is a real pain since earases all settings and apps.

For NDrive, I still could not load the maps. The maps are "incompatible" for my phone .. that is what status says though a check reveals that the maps are ok. Just won't load.

So may be I have to try and download from some other source and try my luck.

Thanks to both Gharknes1 and Xajel for your inputs.
