I have original protection screen left on mine, and it's not scratched at all, but on 2nd one that my father is using without any protection after a month there is still no single scratch, even if he puts a phone to the pocket with keys.
For fun:
- Dad, don't put Your cell to Your pocket together with keys!
- Mike, U know I never do this, son.
After 10 minutes:
- Mike! Give me my phone! I must call mom!
- Where is it dad?
- In my pocket. This one where the keys are.
Isn't it fantastic???
But no single scratch on it

I have never used screen protectors or cases for any mobile phone I have owned. The protective film has a tendency to become scratched and ugly very soon, and any kinds of cases only makes the phone bigger and in some cases some buttons or functions become unavailable. If the phone really needs a protective film or a protective case in order to continue funcitoning, it's too weakly designed to begin with. I don't mind a few battle scars on my phone, that only shows that I have used it. If you want a phone in mint condition, why don't leave it in the box it came in and not use it? Besides, when the scratches have become too many, that is one extra reason to buy a new phone in a couple of years
Don't really understand your mentality, I spent quite a bit of money for my Satio and I don't want it having "war wounds?" Your phone can look as beat up as you like but I'm willing to bet 9/10 people don't want their phones looking like crap. Just like how first thing women look at are if your shoes look good, you think you won't be judged by the way you take care of your mobile phone?

i have had my P1i for over a year and it is still in as new condition, it's been all over the world in my pocket with coins etc and hasn't a mark on it, never used a screen protector or case, I hope the satio is as robust

My Satio got a scratch, so it can be done. Not sure yet what caused it, as it isn't put in a pocket with my keys.
May try some Displex to try and improve it - but I doubt I'll get rid of it entirely.
I also have some dents in the camera cover, but it seems to be quite easy to dent (going by the other Satio's I've seen).
