Why would a 65k color display need a lot more power than a 4096? I don't think the number of simultaneous colors have nothing to do with battery usage. Correct me if I'm wrong, tho.
Anyway, the 4096 display is probably the only thing that could be improved on the P800 in my eyes. But a big 65k diplay would probably boost the price with €100.

Well, to display more colors at a certain resolution, you need more memory, thus more energy, I'd assume. Just take the iPaq or any other Pocket PC. They have huge 65k screens and a lot of RAM to display those colors, and guess how long the battery lasts?

As I indicated, I'm no expert in this field. But I do think some of the display problems on the P800 could be solved using diffusion to avoid bad gradients (e.g. on photos). With the CPU power of the P800 this must be possible.

Sure, that could prolly work! Giving some of the RAM to the video controller for better color depth. Just like on the PPCs were you can adjust the memory for running applications and files. Is the video quality really that bad?!

The P800 is probably not as well-designed as the T68 but you kinda get used to its different design when you've had it for a while. That's the same for all different and pioneering design.

No, it's not bad and I'm deeply in love with that phone. But as a perfectionist I'm always speculating in how you can make things 100% perfect.
