My phone's battery has improved bit by bit over the past 3 days. It's only had 3 charges so far and it's improving. I am using juicedefender and ESTaskManager. I also set my screen to 3% brightness for normal indoor use. I use an app called FastBright to quickly toggle my screen to 100% brightness when I'm outside and need the brightness to see the screen. works GREAT. I also use a toggle called APNToggle that lets me turn off my mobile data when ever i need to for whatever reason. Generally, I also keep it on GSM only setting until I need 3G data, which is only when i'm out of the house. At home, I switch on the wifi when I need to do anything requiring internet/data.
I'm hoping the battery continues to improve and hopefully will make that drastic improvement jump that people have been claiming.
@articreaver - juice defender won't kill your email notifications. It will enable your ADN on the schedule you set and your email notifications will occur at that time. I don't have a problem getting email or twitter updates at all. I was killing tasks a lot at first, but have since just let the OS do its thing remembering that android is supposed to be like linux.

I have been using juice defender... But today I have opted in not using it and also only used task killer once and not since to see how it goes...
Juice Defender runs in the background, so it need to process every 15mins...
However if you are updating manually or every 1/2 hours then this way Juice Defender is doing more as it keeps switchin on and off
Today without Juice Defender - 8 hours standby battery is on 66% which I think is pretty good, I have used timescape a bit and google talk and couple of short calls... Not too bad me thinks...

@SE-Naz: nope not using any of the those type of apps. I master reset my phone about a week ago and have only installed a few minor apps - one of which is Battery Indicator - to display battery percentage in the status bar.

Mine has gone backwards again! After showing an improvement it's now back to expiring before the day is out.
Significantly both times I've taken it to the football the phone has ended up dead quite early, about 8-9pm, without heavy use!
The thing to consider here is that in a football stadium it is difficult for the device to keep it's network connection as there are so many others there too. As we can see in the battery usage stats, Cell Standby is always a killer and I'm now more convinced than ever that the X10 has big radio problems causing massive power consumption

Here is my tip, don't use juice defender, don't use task killers.
What I found did work, and does work consistently is that after a charge, immediately reboot your phone.
My battery time went up roughly 1.8-2X and many people has experienced the same thing.
Try and see if it works for you

I have noticed that if there is no decent reception and the phone spends more time and power looking, which really puts a drain on the battery... Can you not put it on 2G??? or even flight mode, if its a problem...
When I travel underground I tend to put it on flight mode, which has made a big difference... After hour journey with music on... I get to around 95-97% battery which I think is pretty good... If I don't then I get around 85-90% which is quite a bit more...

Flight mode will of course improve battery life but really we shouldn't have to be switching to flight mode all the time just to get the phone to the end of the day.
The colossal battery consumption and various WiFi problems tell me that the radio is in a mess on the X10

i've started carrying my Nokia DC-11 just in case the x10 runs out as it does go down very quickly in most cases...
Still love it though as its a great little phone once you debrand!!!! I also have Advanced Task Killer Pro so its set to auto kill when i lock the screen.

Dear All,
I have just had a notification that my X10 has arrived and I can't wait 'til this evening so I can play with it.
I can't remember or see if there was a consensus as to whether or not the battery should have a full charge before switch on. My hopes are so high for this handset, I don't want to do anything that might mess it up..
Thanks,
RH
