Well if I was to get an X6 it would have to be on contract, which I am not sure about doing. The 5800 is £180 at CPW, which is 30 quid more than I'd like to spend really. Would prefer an X6 though.

Never used android before. If I was to get a smartphone it would be either the nokias, samsung wave or an iPhone 4G. But I have an iPod touch as it is and it's probably best to leave the iPhone 4G.

I am very tempted by the Nokia 5230 but would much prefer a 5800 or X6.

Also very tempted by the Jet.

Played with an X6 today and it was very nice I really want one now but I'm not sure about getting a contract.

Need to play with a Jet now.

Off to the shops today to hopefully have a look at the X6 (again) Samsung Jet, Tocco Ultra and whatever else takes my fancy

I keep finding some sort of downsides to all the phones I'm looking at. This is really confusing me. I have been planning to buy a phone for about 8 months now and cannot decide.

All help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Well mate just look at it like this. There is no perfect phone as yet & we all find little niggles we hate about our mobiles. Thing to do is look at your options & out of the ones you choose look at which features you DON'T like about each one. Then when you choose the phone you want, make sure the feature that you DON'T like about it is the feature that your least likely to use. Confused? Well me too cos I just confused myself. Ask in the shops if you can have a play Happy hunting.

Well after today I'm still confused. I keep thinking about it at and end up at the iPhone every time.

I could not bother buying a new phone and use my mum's old 3G iPhone (she get's her upgrade about now and is waiting for the 4G) but I actually want a new phone if you know what I mean, plus I already have an iPod Touch.

Had a go with the Jet, Wave and X6 today. All nice, but not as good as the iPhone. The wave was hard to type on, and the Jet and the X6 didn't really impress me tbh. Also had a go on the BlackBerry Bold 9700. Was struggling to use it, and came across as a business phone.

I want a good internet browser, a phone that's easy to text with, a decent-ish camera, and a phone that impresses me (ie has all of those things plus looks nice, is nice to hold/use).

Tbh, I think I'm gona need to do some more thinking. I am tempted by the Samsung Monte, but cheaper phones never feel as nice. I have expensive tastes

Thanks for your help Bonovox. I think it's something I need to decide, not the reviewers of the world.

Why don't you try the HTC Legend and if the price is good you won't be disappointed with the choice. It has maybe the best screen for its platform - the golden mid 320x480, very nice-shooting camera, 3.5 mm jack and last but not least it gets updates for the android very quickly. Soon it's expected to release android 2.2 for this device Maybe I sound like I make commercial but I am fascinated by this phone .

Thanks for the suggestions but I don't fancy an Andriod phone. Was playing with the Samsung Galaxy yesterday, nice phone, but I don't want one.

Was also playing with a Samsung Soul. I really liked it and got on with it well but it's not that good for internet.

Had a proper play with a Satio and the browser wasn't as good as the iPod Touch/iPhone.

I think the iPhone is for me. My mum is gona give me her 3G next month when she upgrades to the 4G Doubt I'll get the 4G. If I decide I don't like the iPhone, then I'll have to start looking again.

Although I bought an iPod Touch as I never planned to have an iPhone. And I only bought it in February. I like having an iPod Touch + a different phone, but none of the other phones I've looked at have a browser anywhere near as good as the iPhone.

Need to do some more thinking I think.

Thanks for everyones help it is greatly appreciated

well if you liked the way symbian worked mate , i would reconmend the nokia n97mini if you can spare the cash.
I use mine all the time for web browsing texting and the rest of the phone is great.
Size is just fine build quality is probably the best i have had for a while.
Failing that the w995 is a brilliant little phone decent cam , good music player. Good build quality.

Its all a matter of personal taste at the end of the day i think.
Hope you find your perfect phone mate and do your self a favour go and check out the n97mini dude ...... Its great , all my post on here are now done from it.
Chris
