The software reset does actually seem to have worked for me. Fully charged about 3 hours ago, then used youtube and some apps a couple of times, 10-15mins, and battery still at 96%. It would have lost over 20% at least with this by now... Also last night from 56% it only lost 5% in 9hours standy

i'd also suggest rebooting the device and see what is running after booting. things like maps, software update hogged my galaxy S after i flashed it to gingerbread a while ago.

androids' battery sucks just as bad, drains faster compared to symbians'

I've just come from a Vivaz with Symbian. The battery did last about 3 days usually, but that's because I only used it to listen to music, for everything else it's a pain to use. Most of the time I rather turned on my computer to check a webpage then to fiddle with a Symbian phone.

So yes, it doesn't use the battery, because it doesn't really do much of anything... My Arc last about 1-2 days now, but according to the battery statistics, 50-70% of that is the screen.

The forumers here were discussing something about camera affecting battery life. If you happened to activate the camera the camera application will suck the juice of the battery pretty fast, even in flight mode. I did a test on my phone without activating the camera and it really did extend my battery life more.

with these new technology batteries it's not indicated to overcharge them, because it will do motre damage than good. Maybe older batteries needed a lot of charge to become optimized, but the newer ones work ok after 3-5 charges (from 0 to 100%). You can google it if you dont believe me. I havent left my phone in the charger over night since the old K700i, and all my phones work ok. So dont overcharge, when it reaches 100%, unplug the phone.

From what I know about Lithium batteries, over-charging them or even letting them discharge will damage them. That is why there is actual circuitry inside the battery to stop that from happening.
Also, once the battery reaches 100% you can check that the charger cools down = not charging.
So i don't think you can really overcharge if you leave it overnight.

The term over charge is just not possible. Look at it this way,you can hardly charge a battery to over what it's power limit is can you?? If a battery over charged it would explode that is why it does stop charging even if still plugged in. I have always left my phones charging over night yet never had any issues.

P.S. i read that you are on a trip, so i am waiting for some nice pix from you in the Arc pictures topic

Good to see I'm not alone.
Sold mine after 8 days.
I'm not surprised Esato's review focussed so much on the camera. Cause, everything else about the phone is pure 'cheap'. It felt, from day one, second one, like a midrange overblown Samsung.
Yes, it is better than the X10, but what phone isn't?
Sony reaffirmed the fact that Android does not equal success.
Anyone holding up something 'modern' like the Arc to prove how obsolete Symbian and BB are - have a reality check.
The bubble will burst.
Android's fragmentation is driving quality down, in the same way Apple turned the smartphone definition into a toys R us farce. But even an iPhone will get you through a day, and you don't need to sellotape the battery cover in place.
