I hadn't owned a single apple product before my first iPhone (which was not my first smartphone - it was my fifth in fact). My loyalty since has been to the iPhone on its own merits, not to the apple brand per se.

The think with Nokia was many years back they had the simple easy to use phones that everybody wanted,and Nokia was mostly the brand to have. Then they got left behind and lost the plot. But despite their downturn Nokia still have a massive fan base out there it's just Nokia fans are waiting for something new from them I think. Apple already had that fan base from making iPods they then made a mobile with a simple intuitive interface. But imo it's still over rated. Brand to me means nothing.

happy with my iPhone I may look into getting a cheap Android phone as a spare
