Im much more comfortable with the keypad on. And much more at ease wen its in my pouch. For those who likes the keypad off, I suggest you buy the Nite Ize cel pouch. The medium one. A very good heavy duty pouch. You can even put in your extra battery.

I have ued it with keypad on for the first week and then decided to remove it and I love it this way? It looks and feels thinner and much more sofisticated, people keep wondering what is that

well to support the theory of the flip making it unsafe we know that:
pressure = force per area
so if the contact with the screen is smaller and the force is the same then there will be more pressure on the screen than if the contact with the screen was spread out.

One could remove the buttons from the flip....
This would of course ruin the flip..
How much does a flip cost?
One could cut of the pins. That way it would at least look intact..

just reviving this topic coz i asked the same question on my forum and the answer came back
without which suprised me
just removed the flip and TBH prefer it on so i'm going to put it back. too scared i'll break the screen without it even though there is the flip pin problem, but surely that would be covered under warranty anyway as a build fault rather than using insurance if it broke.

I'm using mine with the flip, for protection of course.
A second reason is that when you make a call with the flip removed the screen gets really dirty from touching the skin.

I actually like the look with the keyboard on, makes it easier to use one handed & does help protect the screen (but I do handle it with much love & care
)
