I've got the TDK bluetooth adapter and can't get the bloody thing to work. I can detect my p800, pair with it, but after that anytime I try to connect a prompt popups up on p800 saying do I want to accept connection, I accept, and my PC tells me that the client has terminated the connection!
Anyone else had this?

First thing- select 'connect without authorisation' or similar on your P800 under bluetooth settings for whatever your computer is called.

I've got the MSI, but it's the same software. I'm using 1.3.2.7 drivers. Mine works, but it's a bit flaky. And it always goes through a 'connected to COM0' 'lost connection' routine, and then the phone seems to initiate the connection the other way and it works. I've allowed the PC always to talk to the phone (it's an option in the Devices section of the Bluetooth control panel on the P800), and done the equivalent on the PC.

this really should be in a faq somewhere as it seems to be a legitimate common problem now...
Should it be a sticky BT thread?

Cheers, I'll give it a go when I get home. I think I tried that but I was getting so pissed off with it last night that I can't remember what I'd done

I've looked for a solution to get a reliable connection, or even better to automate the connection or initiate it from the phone, but to no avail. Has anyone managed to do this?

not possible to initiate from phone as it needs the serial port enabling.

I always get this error, but it works, as you say, because the P800 comes back and instantiates a connection. I must have spent 3 hours trying to figure out what the @#$% was wrong before I discovered that it was actually working, error msg non-withstanding.
Does anyone know how to make the P800 or PC automagically start the BT Serial Port connection? Call me lazy, but its a pain to have to force the PC to restart the Serial port everytime you come back to your desk!
cheers

Hi there! Did anyone manage to access the internet over bluetooth and the PC? I know, it's in this forum, but everything I've found didn't work.
I have a Tecom BT3030 running on W2k (latest servicepack and everything). I have no idea how to start up an internet connection with this damn thing. Sync and file sending works perfectly - sync works after you force it.
Thanks everyone!

I'm having probs with BT using a compaq multiport module..I can get the phone to pair with the PC but when I try to start the BT serial port I get a "the bluetooth serial port connection failed: The remote device closed the connection"
I cant see any other authentication settings other than the "allow to connect without confirmation" message.
Has anyone else had this problem?
