You didn't say whether you were using serial, usb or built-in ir but anyway once your machine sees that it has an ir port you'll be able to see the wireless option in the control panel. Until then its a hardware problem on your machine. Once you get the ir port working just enable the ir on the phone and put it in range of the pc and you're set. This message was posted from a T300

@krazykritter:

I'm using a serial IR port connected to COM2. When I use it with t68i, it's flawless, but when I connect the P800, instability comes up...

I'm not having probs when transfering data, but when P800 is in IR "stand-by", the connection gets lost every 10-15 secs and that pisses me off!

I even turn that annoying "beep" sound when XP finds IR connections

I'm using an MA-600 (which i originally bought for my 8210 on Win98 pc) with my T68i and P800 on WinXP Home pc, it worked fine before and after SP1, all i had to do was get the right drivers from the manufacturer's web-site when i installed it to the PC. No probs whatsoever since (unlike my bastid P800-cradle connection, which is a pain in the arse)

control panel > system > hardware > device manager

make sure that IRDA has been enabled and that windows and also "Allow the computer to this off this device to save power" in Power Management tab isn't ticked.
