Just connect the camera to the USB port and it will act as a card reader-- my cybershot-U does, and i use it to transfer files to my P800 when the base station is not connected (not programs tho i could use just and SIS file on the memstick then delete it....)

yeah Sony says that it is impossible to see the pictures without going through your computer first.

Another cool thing tho is that you can transfer mp3s and stuff MUCH MUCH quicker via the connection with ur camera and PC than with the P800 to the PC.

so... how can it be possible to use the cameras as card readers if the file system formats are incompatible??

I really need to be able to transfer Cybershot => P800....

but thats what i mean.. if the camera will read the p800 filesystem... why can't it be done the other way around??

Or are we talking about using it with the camera just lets you use it like a cardreader in that it shows the file system roots?

Simple!

Use filemanager,

Click at the top C:\* - choose D:()
Click DCIM - These are the dir where the DSP-5 saves the files
Click 100MSDCF - Same again - diff cam might have diff dir

Select files buy clicking on icon(not name)
Click Edit
Click Move
Click into folder and select [Media files] - [image] - [unfiled]

Thats it! then go into pictures with the p800 and view your files!

It works for me without a computer! so it must work for you!

if having any trouble just post here again!

yes but you're moving the pictures with Filemanager for the PC aren't you??!

So you *are* using a PC...

I need to be able to do this without having the PC as part of the equation...

edit: have tried this now having been to the Sony shop with a spare duo - he saved it on the stick and now I can't even find the filesystem with Filemanager on the PC - it shows the Media Files directory but wont get me go any higher.

Any help gratefully received. Ta
