Since CA is shared with Cingular I'm not sure that it will work, but I would call TMo CS and find out if data is enabled on your phone. Even if you did have it enabled previously, things that don't get used on your acct tend to fall out of the system. At least that's been my experience with TMo. For example I don't use the fax option with my voicemail very often, maybe a few times a year, but i usually have to call and have to fixed when I do. Then it works fine until I stop using it again for a few months.

Because I’ve been reading some of the thread and most of them have a traumatic experience with tmobile’s CS particularly with the csd configuration issue, do you think it’s appropriate or wise to ask them re: csd settings? thanks

I wouldn't waste your time asking Tmo CS about CSD, it would be more efficient to beat your head against a brick wall.

I'll give you an example of a recent episode on somethingfar simplier than CSD. TMo has the option on their site to filter email sent to the email address of your phone number@tmomail.net. Well anyway all of a sudden the filters stopped working. It took several hours on the phone to get it fixed. But during this time I actually got a rep that was niave enough that was actually confused by the term "SPAM," I kid you not. Anyway a day later some "tech support" person got my upoc account closed twice, because that was the offender NOT some spammer trying to sell me sex and mortage rates.

It's issues such as these that demonstrate the need for avoidance of CS when at all possible. I wish TMo was the exception but I've come to learn most companies "tech support" isn't much better. I.E. Don't even get me started on AT&T Broadband (Comcast) support.

Anyway all the settings they could give you are here, most TMo CS people and even data support aren't even aware of the number much less help you to use it.

So how do I get the Tmo CSD settings here in San Francisco? ( If the Tmo CS cant provide the settings) Do you have the settings/configuration? ( Because I’ve already tried the settings provided by noc and I couldn’t get it to work. I don’t know why?) Can you provide me with the settings that would work here in San Francisco or CA area. Thanks a lot.

There aren't any different settings. That's what there is. It's rumored that Tmo USA is phasing out CSD anyway in favor of GPRS, and they may have never even allowed it in CA, since they're really just using Cingular's network there. Even in markets, like mine, Dallas, CSD is spotty at best and it frequently doesn't work. So much so that you might as well just use your own ISP, which I was doing back when I was using it with my Palm. Otherwise go for GPRS, sorry buddy. I know that's not what you wanted to hear.

OK I was playing around setting up CSD on my t300. Something I hadn't done. I haven't really used CSD for about a year when I had my Nokia 8290. Anyway I wasn't able to connect when I used this DNS Address: 208.014.205.005, but it did finally connect when I used 010.168.200.050 for both the dns address and ip address. Otherwise everything was the same.

Did some searching and found these numbers for CSD on Cingular. Seeing as you're technincally on Cingular's network this might be worth a try.

+18472549270

Also this might be worth a look too

@krazykritters

Thanks a lot. I'll just try it out tonight. I hope there won't be any problem at all, with the configuration.
