Hi, im a handphone newbie from Malaysia. I just got a T65 (my first phone) several days ago, and have the following questions/issues:

1) SMS is slow, when typing and accessing inbox. I heard other ppl have the same problem too.

2) Only one game ("Game"), instead of four. Also some ppl have this problem.

3) I got mine for RM699, excluding service provider (Maxis) registration. This is like RM100 cheaper than the 8250, eventhough the T65 is supposed to be 'better' than the 8250 (correct me if im wrong). How much did u get yours for, and any other thoughts on the price?

4) The first and only time i recharged it, the standby time was 199, far from the claimed 300. What did u get the first time u charged it? And will it increase/decrease over time?

I guess my main question is whether all, if not most, of these problems/issues can be fixed by a software upgrade at the service centre? Mine's currently R2B as i just discovered. Is there sucha thing as a hardware upgrade? And how long will it normally take...a few days?

I'd appreciate any kinda reply, especially from fellow Malaysians. Thx and have a good day!

Hi Guys,

I'm from M'sia Too.. No problem with software upgrade.

Just need to ask (R2B), before I was on R1B and the text size can be changed and be the chosen one for all menus + Call List + SMS Inbox, For R2B, I found that even if I choose Small text Size, The Call List and the SMS Inbox still will be Medium text Size. Is this the same with all you guys?

Can you please verify. I rather like it if it's possible for me to choose my default text size.

Cheers

nikeow...

that's a bug on the R2B, but some version of R2B like the latin 1 dont have that problem.

latin 1's language compose of bha. indo, bah. ma and english

while latin 2 includes Tagalog, viet, thai and english. if u have these as your Language, ur font in the name list will be LARGE even if u set ur font to small or medium

latin 3 language is the chinese t68MC

Hi Nikeow,
Pls check this, setting-->Language-->Menus,

Mine is 1.Automatic 2.English 3.Bhs Indonesia 4.Bah Malaysia

So do you have chinese in this menu Language option? If yes then some of the menu font size will become medium even you choose small. All you need to do is back to Service centre ask them to put R2B without Chinese, then problem will solve.

Hi,

I've checked. You are indeed correct. I have the Chinese Version.

So, that's the bug eh.. hmm.. and If I get it upgraded to the one without the chinese then all will be OK?

Cool.. (is this confirmed?)

Then again, if I re-flash it and lose the Chinese, then Problem if I want to read Chinese. (Then again, I can't read chinese nor receive Chinese SMS...Hmm.... tough Choice)

Thanks guys, great Help..

But never mind, I think I'll wait a bit since Ericsson (Telemas in Malaysia) has agreed to change my T68 to a new one.

I took it in last week due to squecky sound on the keypad. According to them, Keypad prob and I suspect they agreed to change it Bcos they found stuffs even worst than that. I suspect that my R1B is currupt. The Q Game was not playable nor Discernible what it was.

Waiting for my new HP..

Sad that they will release T68i when I just bought it 1 week ago.

Sigh..

Phew just return from a service centre. Technician upgraded my phone from R1C to R2B....not the MMS software though..
According to him it's not release yet, coz if it is, it would be on Ericsson server. Never mind though, menus and SMS are lots faster than R1C. I would check on him later for upgrade. Anyway, thank you Mr. Wong!
