This is definitely an april fool joke! How do i know? Well the comment about larger memory stick support gave it away because there will never be an MS Duo bigger than 128mb!

Actually, besides the 256, they are planning (including MagicGate Duos) to have 1GB Memory Stick Duos by the end of 2004. Check the Sony Memory RoadMap, they have both magic gate and duo size and dates of release.

Yup. It's just the P800 only supports 128MB duos.

Actually Sony DID plan to make 256mb and above duos but they can't! Even the normal size memory sticks can't get to 256mb without the use of a switch, effectively making it two 128mb duos stuck onto a normal size memory stick. That's why they have made another new format called memory stick pro which are the size as the normal memory sticks but incompatible with most existing hardware. There are currently 256, 512 and 1gb MS pros and they might even go as high as 32gb. The roadmap everyone keeps refering to showing that ms duo will go up to 1gb is now outdated and has been removed from the memory stick site.
So once and for all here are the new maximum memory stick capacities:
Memory Stick - 128mb
Memory Stick Select - 256mb (2*128mb)
Memory Stick Duo - 128mb
Memory Stick Pro - 32gb

@SunilC
Just as I understand it. Spot on
But read the switchable ones might go higher (4 switch positions for 512MB).
