Thanks but I have also tried that. I'm really considering taking the phone back (Even though I love the phone more than my missus
) to the store and wait for the siemens to come out.
So has everyone had this sort of problem with this particular phone?

i had to force an install of the usb drivers pointing windows towards the cd to find drivers, reboot of my pc worked fine then, tried running "audevicemgr.exe" from your SE directory on its own, i've deleted the autostart fnction so i have to run this file when i want to sync/etc

i find that if you keep taking the phone of the cradle the software gets confused.... it says its connected when it clearly isnt, and sometimes tries to connect when i take the phone off the cradle and then disconnect when i put it back on.
what im trying to say is that the little icon is not a good way to judge if ure phone is connected.... if you have installed the se suit of their website you will get a small p800 icon appear on the taskbar when your phone has actually connected.
try:
assuming that you have installed phone software of se site.
take all other usb stuff off, obviously not the mouse, keyboard and cradle and restart to be on the safe side.
right click on the and select "change phone", it there are no phones there it means that you have to set up the phone in ure MPM to detect the p800 in control panel....
if there is, restart the pc without the phone connected to the cradle, on reboot, when everything has loaded put the phone in the cradle. The icon should change....and most importantly the p800 icon appears on the taskbar.
if the connection icon changes to a "pulse" and you dont see the p800 icon it most likely means that an application is "blocking" the connection... such as norton... but ure pc suit is configured correctly.
otherwise, you should see the p800 icon and should be able to use the se software.

@Evisu_Kid
Try this:
1. Set your "Flow Control" to none.
2. Right-click on the "Phone connection link", select "Properties" and un-check your USB cradle, then re-check it.
3. Put the phone back on the cradle
If that doesn't work:
Plus the Cradle into another USB port and reboot your PC.

Hi all!
I bought my P800 yesterday...and I have the same problem... I tried everything that is mentioned here and in other discussions... the cradle seems to work and it communicates well with P800, because, when I am in the "Phone Connection Link"->Properties, if in the P800 I've selected "Modem" but not "PC Connect", then in the Phone Connection Link is written "Not Connected". But when I select the "PC connect" from my P800, in "Phone Connection Link" immediately comes "Connecting" and after that "Connected".
And after that, I go to add the phone but the list is empty.
Also MPM has no list in it, too... I enabled all ports in it, but no phone recognized...
I tried putting the cable on the other USB port, I tried rebooting, reinstalling + on/off P800- nothing!
I also tried selecting for flow control- "None" in both- my P800 and WinXP...
I also disabled ALL software, so my sys-tray is empty...
...and- A big nothing...
What do you guys suggest?
P.S. I am using PC Suite 1.1.0
Thanks!

dont close all applications in systray and choose "pc connect" not "modem".
ure problem: Software is working fine but MPM did not detect ure p800 on setup. you have to force the little bugger into detecting ure phone.
this most likely wont work but try going to contrl panel>phone monitor options>com ports and enable and reserve the com port that ure cradle is connected to, disable all the others. easiest way to find this out is double click on , its usually com4.
then pop ure p800 in the cradle and wait for it to connect. double click on the p800 icon on ure desktop and cross ure fingers.
hopefully MPM will detect ure phone now, when its added in the list you should be able to connect. the small p800 icon will appear on the taskbar if this is so.
tell u the truth, i think the hardest thing to do is get MPM to recognise ure phone.... it worked first time for me. then i deleted the phone in the list by mistake (so lame) and i had to re-install all SE software to get it to detect again... so if all else fails, remove se stuff and delete the MPM directory in program files>Ericsson (important!) then install se suit software from their website..... plug in the p800 and everything should set itself up.
good luck.

Finally got my e-mail back from SE (After only about 2 weeks worth of torment), and this is what it said.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your email regarding the Sony Ericsson P800.
The P800 software contains two connection monitoring applications. The first
one, mRouter deals with seeing the phone for Synchronization and Phone
Monitor deals with the connection to the phone for modem usage.
Hence two icons would appear in the system tray if Phone Monitor has been
set to display in the system tray.
mRouter Phone Monitor
The Issues
1. If both mRouter and Phone Monitor are running, mRouter will function
correctly. However Phone Monitor requires that mRouter be closed down,
otherwise it will not detect the handset. Phone Monitor will not see the
handset until mRouter has been closed or the com port disabled.
2. Phone Monitor has to be running for the Ericsson DUN Wizard software
to work. It is necessary to use the DUN Wizard, rather than creating the
connection in DUN manually, as the Data Accounts that have been setup on the
handset do not display their CID numbers, so its hard to manually setup a
DUN. It's not impossible but not recommended.
3. Before you use the DUN Wizard you will need to manually install the
phone as a modem - the software will not create one automatically.
4. The port speed on the PC and on the Phone must be the same. Eg. For
the machines that have been tested to date, 115200 baud. With out these
matching mRouter nor Phone Monitor will find the phone.
Yours Sincerely
Sony Ericsson Data Support
Hope that helps anyone out, personally it dont make any sense to me. Lol.
