Will it be possible to upgrade straight to R2 from R1B, do you think? It seems from what I've seen on this site that R1C might fix a few bugs but doesn't provide any new features while R2 will provide quite a bit more functionality. The reason I'm asking is that if R2 is released within a couple of months, I might wait to upgrade my R1B T68 straight to R2.

Terry : I guess you could go for a "direct upgrade" to R2, when it arrives.
The question is "when" does it arrive.
I think you can "skip" an upgrade and go further. Or maybe they will make a "double-upgrade" ???
Actually I dont know,..this is just my guess.
In fact I did skip an upgrade on my Nokia (sorry, nasty word in here), and got the newest one.

This is similar to when you are installing a new version of Windows over the old one. If your computer is compatible, you delete the old os and install the new one.
I haven't had much trouble with Information loss during these upgrades. Not in the same scale as in Nokia.

Merkur : Okay, I thought so too.
BTW : I never lost any information/settings, when upgrading my ericssons.
But with the 6210, everything was gone

YEP,..Find an Ericsson service point/center, they will upgrade the phone to R1C.
You cant do this yourself

Depend on your phone condition, if you bring T68 with battery fully charged and there is no queue, then process only take 25 - 30 minutes.
But if you bring almost empty battery then process will take about 1 to 2 hours depend how long your battery fully charged, and if there are many queue, then it will add more time needed to upgrade your Ericsson.

Upgraded my phone today, the batery was half, and it tok 13 minutes, from version R1B to R1C
