listen i work for o2 data support team . i think you are a little confused in the fact that you mention cpw data support. my department goes through a 6 six week training period and does training constantly to the point where we advise mac and microsoft how to do their job.
what i would suggest to you is that we have the same problem with cpw to the point where we dont listen to them and take info straight from the customer as cpw talk shit . if you do some research youll find that we are the best in the mobile industry for support on all data product . try givin us a call .
use profanities and you get know where and thats probably what youve been doing . if a customer called more than 3 times without getting resolve we get linched.
as for using mobile web for mms . u are stupid . mobile web uses dns so ip is dynamic . the nap (nokias provisioning system) is on a wap gateway so you dont know f**k all and advising bullshit.
also cpw can do mms and mobile web they are just stupid and rely on rumours within the dept .
and if that other muppet works for bt , has it occured to you that 02 seperated from bt 3 years ago for a reason . your staff dont get trained any way cos they are all in india . muppet

yo breaker fall . data and fax is nothing to do with mobile web gprs 1) is slow at 9.6kbps as gprs is around 43-47kbps 2) its very expensive . stick to prepay as you dont know sod all

You might as well not bother coming back to these forums if you are going to post like that all the time.
You cannot come here and start insulting people and telling them that they are "stupid" and not provide and real help.
If you read the rules you will see that it is not tollerated here. What you have posted is childish and doesn't help anyone, especially yourself.

not-so-kind regards,

Phil.

but youre allowed . to slag off the wrong depts cpw and o2 are different companies . cpw just offer a service .
the reason i am like that is that none of these people have come to the proper o2 data support for help as we set up ipacs and t68i alll day and more . none of the notes here show any inclin that they need help as you have just asked them to bin o2 . wrong they should bin cpw. give me a decent question and i will answer it . so stop slagging and call the proper lines and you will know what im on about . other networks would not even do that as i also have an orange phone and they told me to piss off so you a creating more difficulties as porting number makes data connections even more difficult to resolve .

i hope im clearer this time

Wrong choice of words, have you tried to read your post?!

I still cant make out what you are trying to acheive. If you intent on insulting users who have genuine problems then like I said, please read the rules. If however you are just trying to compare CC departments then please dont bother, we dont care.
I also find it funny that you still haven't offered a single piece of advice to try and fix the problem. It probably wouldn't be needed though because this thread had layed dormant for almost a month. Why drag it back out just to post nonsense?

Please read the rules.

Regards,

Phil.

fine, im not being funny i just think hypocracy is a bad thing .
the reason he gets that error message on his phone is cos he has the wap access point and not the mobile web,
also ipacs have an intermittant blue tooth problem as they were released before an accepted version of bluetooth was released and as a result it is not stable. here is some info that you so haistily require

To add a data account on an Ericsson

On the menu system scroll to Connect
Select Data Comms
Select Data Accounts
Select Add

Add an account with the following properties:

Name: Mobile web
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk

When you have done this, SAVE the profile and then EDIT it to see the CID - you will need to know this when entering the settings into the PDA
To add a data account on a Nokia

On the menu system scroll to Settings
Select GPRS Modem Setup
Select Active Access point and activate an access point
Select Edit Active Access point and enter a name (alias)
Select GPRS Access Pointand enter mobile.o2.co.uk

PDA settings

Power on the PDA
Select the START button
Tap Settings
Tap Connections
Tap the Connections icon
Tap New...
Enter a connection Name (for example, Mobile web)
From the pull-down menu select Generic IR Modem for infrared, Hayes compatible modem on COM1: for cable/data card or Bluetooth modem for a Bluetooth connection
Set the Baud Rate at 57600
Tap the ADVANCED button
Select the Port Settings tab and check the following settings:

Data Bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Control: Hardware
Select the TCP/IP tab and check the following settings:

No options should be checked other than Use Server Assigned IP Address
Select the Name Servers tab and check the following settings:

Select Use specific server addresses
Insert the DNS IP address as 193.113.200.200
Insert the alt-DNS IP address as 193.113.200.201
Leave the WINS and Alt WINS addresses BLANK
Select OK
Select NEXT
Enter the following dial-up number dependant on handset, and leave all other fields blank:
*99# (Motorola, Nokia)

*99***CID# (Ericsson, Siemens) (the CID is the number identifying the data profile to be used to connect)

Select NEXT
Un-tick: Wait for dial tone before dialling
Tick: Cancel if not connected within 120 seconds
Leave the other boxes empty

NOTE: If you need to specify the dial string, for example with 7650, use:

at+cgdcont=1,"IP","MOBILE.O2.CO.UK"

Tap Finish
Tap Connections
Select your newly created connection
Tap Dialling Options
Tap Dialling Patterns
Enter the following:

For Local calls dial G
For Long distance calls dial G
For International calls dial G
Tap OK twice
Enter the Username as web
Enter the Password as password
Ensure that IrDA or Bluetooth is enabled on the handset or the cable is connected, then tap CONNECT
Once connected tap the Start button icon in the top left corner of the display and then tap Internet Explorer to browse.

i hope that is of some use . like i said if you read all of the other comments they are as bad if not worse than mine and you also condoln it when you quote "i love it when insults start flying . so i suggest that if this is your forum it would set an example to follow your own rules
thank you

ps. if he still has problems with cpw . tell him to get transfered from cpw data support to o2 data support . well be glad to help

also it can depend how old his sim card is . earlier sim cards (2yrs old or longer) is insufficiant in size to handle the large data amounts and speeds that it transfers . if he calls cpw he can now get a 32k sim
it usually has lettering on the back stating either gt1,gt2,gt3,ga,g,pp3
if none are on it or its is old then that will be a major aspect of the problem

@blunt666
I had major probs with GPRS to begin with and various calls to O2 did not resolve it as I was being told different things each time I phoned.

One call to O2 data support and it was sorted.. It was great to speak to someone that obviously knew what they were talking about. The guy even phoned me back to check all was ok. That's what I call support.

I can now use my Clie and my T68i to download email via GPRS with no probs. Not tried web access though. I'll stick with my Vaio for that.

I'm on O2 pay monthly. Would I be able to get a new SIM even if my one is working ok? This one is around 8yrs old.

You'd probably need to pay for it but they would give you one

they should give you a free sim card if you tell them that you need to use a 32k sim card in order for u to use the services properly.

if you have already got an apn for email you should still be able to use that same connection to use full mobile internet on the clie, im not too sure on the menu paths for the sony but i know they work quite well .

im only gonna post for a few more days and then im out of here 1) i was told by a mate that there was alot of confusion on this site relating to a blame issue , believing that o2 is one service provider like orange when in actual fact there's 63 companies including cpw and singlepoint who are also with voda (similar to ourselves) so it can make the main company look worse than it is .
2) the host has a beef with mi because i had a go at some of the users for the comments as they were pretty mutch unjustified

anyway im bored of this i aint coming back here . i dont work for o2 at all i just had similar problems and found o2 data support very usefull and as a result i found that with their help and my knowlege on computers and devices i have helped alot of people on the net. i just back them up as i feel that people are a little harsh but when they have spoken to the right people they realise that there is alot more too the network than people think.
one last thing if youre cards from cpw are recent , their version of the 32k sim has the letters cpw at the end of the seriel number .
nice talking

peace all

peace phil.n you can barr me from the site now . i willingly leave .
please remove me as i dont like this site . its one sided

haha
