Maybe a little tiresome, and maybe target audiences are a different, but the price differential makes a big difference. The P800's what I've been looking for in a phone. But when I can get 80% of what I'm looking for in a 3650 for $150, and a P800 is $600... I start thinking that maybe I'll get a 3650 and use it for a year or two, and move on to what I really want after that.

Where does this 80% figure come from? If it's your gut, fine, but I don't think there's any basis in fact for it.

My MAIN point was that this thread was about US carriers supporting the p800. The price differential between the p800 and the Nokia was pretty off-topic. If people want to discuss the merits of the comparison between the two, start a thread on it. I don't have all day to browse this forum, and when I see a forum topic that interests me, I'd like to feel fairly comfortable that the posts are about the topic.

And now back to the topic at hand. Nextel is NOT a gsm carrier-- therefore you can not use the p800 with Nextel.

what are u all talking about?!?!

I know the p800 is a lot better!
But in the U.S. the P800 and the 3650 are in direct competition.
Just look at CNET if u dont believe me and they completely represent the us market. they gave both fones the same score in everything even features!

No one is going to buy a p800 here because no one will be able to tell the difference for the most part except for price. a few of us understand that the p800 is much more than a picture fone with pda functionality, but that is all most people will see it as and guess what that is exactly what the nokia 3650 claims to be on the 4 different advertisements that i see for it on tv all day long and in magazines. they all say "camera fone with pda functionality" and its only 155 shoot if i didn't know any better i would have been suckered into this mess. good thing i got my p800 early january.

and i live in frisco so yes there is a p800 on the west coast baby!

Thanks all, for the feedback.

One comment about AT&T though - I seriously doubt that they'll be offering unlimited GPRS for $30. They don't offer unlimited access for $99!

T-mobile USED to offer unlimited for $99, but took the more lucrative option when V-stream merged tighter with T-mobile and now only offer, what, 100Mbytes?
