SE will get back strongly with the launch of T610 and CDMA phones like T606 and T608 to capture the US market ! T610 surely will be a big hit and biggest selling phone for 2003 ! Btw, SE will announce 3 new models in Q3, include 2 fashion phones (These are the insight from Eldar!) That's all I know...........Sony Ericsson is fighting back !!

Yeah, exactly. Seems like every dumbass over here's got a Motorola. That stupid Nextel service that people use gets tons of Motorolas. I had a Motorola once....and used it for 4 months. I hated it so much I dropped the service (was under contract) down to $10/month and threw it in my drawer.

yeah americans get motorolas all the time. sony ericsson hasn't got many t/cdma phones i'm afraid (there are some ericssons, but not sony ericssons).

in europe they are top five for sure. is there any study for europe only?

here in belgium we've got the sonyericsson t100, t300, t310, t68i, t600, and the p800 the only one that isn't triband is the t100!!

in europe nokia is still the strongest followed closely by samsung and siemens

hmm... that's true indeed... well, a cousin of mine living in new york bought a t300 here in spain because it was triband and he wanted to use it there in the usa. but in the end he's told me that actually the 900 gsm band is not very reliable there, and hasn't got much quality. most people there prefer cdma phones.

While we're kinda on the topic...they don't have anything like the Nextel service in Europe or anywhere else, do they? If you don't know what I"m talking about its basically expensive cell service but the phones and service have the capability of two-way: kinda like an extended walkie talkie system between users. Lots of people here just love it, but personally I think its just plain stupid. And true to walkie-talkie form, you hear phones all over the place making that characteristic "blllleeeeeeeet!" before a cracking voice comes over the speakerphone. Gay.

I wouldn't say that...Between T-mobile, AT&T and Cingular...the 900 band is pretty decent. I don't get why he would have said that about NY. Well, actually I do know. Europeans that are accustomed to wireless service there are spoiled. You're not used to stuff like losing ALL signal whilst going through the intersection of the two biggest freeways in the #3 cellphone city (detroit) in the nation. Sigh....

The reason why Motorola is readily available here in the US is because this is it's home base. Most Americans get them because they're cheaper even though they look like crap. Most people also don't really care about the brand of phone as long as its cheap or free. You'll find that the ones who really are meticulous about their phones here in the US are Asians or Europeans. This message was posted from a T68i
