Guess he's not getting the violent reaction that he was obviously hoping for. Wonder of wonders, he's still posting at this forum dedicated to his hated phones. A message alert does not a phone make.

Now I know that the most important thing in a phone is the message alert.
Thank you very much big(blow)jobs.

Well, did a bit of a check , and out of 25 different phones I and my mates have only the T68 has such a quiet text alarm tone, most others can go very loud, all can go loud.
It simply stands out as beacon of stupidity, what's weird is that the original T68 firmware had a lovely loud tone.
"sorry mate didn't hear your message"
"why not?"
"I've got a T68i"
"Oh, OK, nuff said"

Well, for what its worth, my view is that @bigjobs is the only guy here talking sense, i had a t68m for 6 months got the upgrade to "i" kept it (& loved it) for another year, then i got a p800 & its superb.
BUT when people who are still looking to buy a t68i in my family come to me to ask my opinion, i allways say "a brilliant phone that is almost ruined by a far to quiet sms tone" its amazing to me that they never saw how stupid that FAULT was, lots of people dont want the phone in thier pocket where they would benefit from the vibe, for example women who keep it in a bag always miss sms.
Come on people @Bigjobs said "A really cool phone messed up by one silly fault" i think thats accurate, what the hell was SE thinking, remember that they got it right on the t68m, then CHANGED it ?????

What a stupid excuse....if you know it's quiet...why not check every so often if u have missed a message?? i guess it would defy the purpose of having the tone to warn you but damn...talk about being a whiny bitch....*cartman mode* "meh meh meh meh...my sms tone isn't loud enough....meh meh meh meh"

The only sensible thing on this thread. C'mon guys, a whole thread to talk about the T68i's SMS tone? The most fully-featured phone of it's time and someone is THAT unhappy about the volume of an alert tone?
