well ya, i heard that they don't treat foreigners very well in Japan, lucky i got black/brown hair (i'm chinese), so i don't look as much different as they are (well, there is, but...)
Well, Me in Canada pretty suffer with not much phone to choose from, other than tri-band, those v70, and someother phone could not be use (they're working on them now, at least there are v60,v66,nokia 8390(forgot the model number, i'm not nokia freaks))
by the way is p800 tri-band?

I think mobile-usage is cool in american movies too! The best telephones there are bigger than my oldest phone.

P 800 is tri band, actually I'd be surprised if any of the future
telling bones are not tri band. Hey Powa where abouts in Canada are you from? I LOVE Canada, lived in Montreal for 5 years and then in Whister for almost a year, i think Canadians are the nicest people in the world(after Kiwis of course) almost married a lovely Canadian girl.

Mmm have a look at the size of their phones, check if they do have bluetooth, how about WAP2?, battery standby?... is that enough?
Ok they have 3G already, but with many problems. The majority of their phones seems hitech because of the colour screens, but they are bulky and ugly (compared to the European tastes)
Once you have a closer look, you will see that we are not so far behind as many of you think. In fact this year we are closer than ever I believe. We only lack in terms of 3G...

Japanese phones are lighter then gsm phones cmon i lived there I know thier phones are larger because the public demands larger lcd because everyone doesn't use their phone to make calls but to read e-mail and i-mode, and wap2 is xhtml which is basically i-mode which is chtml, and all their color screens are 12-16 bits not as out 8bit screens (256 colors).
I think the t68 looks better then some of the japanese phones but they standardize java in them and the rest of the world just jumped on the java bandwaggon.

japan's j-phone was offering video phone a year ago.
japan's ntt Foma is alsa capable of sending streaming video
lots of celphones are made in Asia, that's why asians sometimes has the latest model... earlier than the European counterpart

(like in the movies..lol mafia..lol)... but other people are shiesty with their money here i guess.. but the only places where they sell imported phones.. i.e. t68, 8310, blah blah are in the asian cell stores... so yea.. BUT WE ARE FAAAR FAAAAR BEHIND europe and asia... but japan.. cmon... they make the US look like stupid pricks who cant use any technology..
Japan already had video conferencing cell phones before Nokia or ericsson came out with their "just" digital pix cameras.. cmon... everybody knows Japan whips ass on everyone when it comes to technology.. . but dont be mad at them... we r the ones buying it... so blah...
