@701: Yes you can amplify your MP3's, however you'd be defeating the object of a powered amplifier. MP3 amplification is only designed to make quieter MP3's louder. I would only recommend making it a max of 50% louder than it was, but this is probably going to introduce some distortion.
To get more volume from the P900 you need more current going to the speaker to support any loud sounds it produces. I would say it's not possible to get the speaker much louder than it actually is without the risk of damaging it, and it would not sound too great.
Try re-encoding an MP3 with a higher volume level and see what you get, but as soon as you get distortion, thats your limit im afraid.
