Correction: The S55 Does have fade-up AND use the earpiece for ringtones. Good thing is that you can use .MMF files and insert silence @beginning of file, thus getting rid of the fadeup. You can also convert .wav and .amr to .mmf for use as ringtones.

The S55 I have doesn't have fade-in ringtones, firmware differences? I have the latest version 11.
I thought the ringtone comes out from a little hole directly above the earpiece and not from the earpiece. I'll look again when I have access to the phone again. (Currectly on hand: Nokia 6610.)
