What exactly makes the P800 rubish?
Sure, the programs you install might make you're
phone crash, but thats a risk you take when you
install programs regardles of OS.
And programs that stays in the memory?
Once again: Bad programming.

Hmm ok.
@ Migzy:
Why bring up u r an ericsson engineer if u specialise in PABX's which has NOTHING to do with the mobile phones ?
@ The rest
My P800 is my baby. I have only experienced one crash on it, I can sync perfectly with Outlook 2002 and WinXP and eveything has been working extremely well. My only conclusion with people not being able to sync with Outlook is that somewhere there might be a software conflict on their PC's. Don't blame SE too eagerly, remember Windows is known for incompatibilities especially with syncing data. I have installed PC Data Suite 4.xx.xx on no less than 5 computer's running XP and Office XP and have yet to experience one problem with connectivity and syncing.
Basically... if you are either:
a) A gadget person that likes tinkering with new technology and wants the latest and greates, get the P800
b) A corporate type that needs a PDA/Phone hybrid, get the P800.
However, if you sometimes bitch & moan about program instability (meanwhile u r running 16bit apps on a 32bit OS) crashes for which you are definitely not to blame for, sdatisfied with the T68i (or just even likes the T68i) DONT get the P800.
Rather wait for the T610 as it is the upgrade to the T68i. The p800 is a different phone all together.

@ Migzy:
Trolling for flames m8?
@ Kire
Tell me please how you sync your p800 to outlook 2002 perfectly...
I cant' get categories or all day events to sync properly...
I agree with you that only early addopters/ gadget lovers should use this phone. But then again, that was true for the first Psions and Palms (actually most psions)
@ All Else
if you are looking for an ultra stable phone, get one of the basic nokias, motorolas or samsungs, they will basically never crash because they have very basic features. And maybe that is what you want/need. I know that I have a Motorola 190 for backup, it does NOTHING but make and recieve phone calls (does not even have a builtin phone book) but you know, sometimes that's all you need.
Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer pick.
I think that this phone both impresses and underwhelms, but it has so much potential, that with the right programs this can be the killer phone to have. (untill they come out with a wel integrated palm/phone combo that is)

Well my P800 is the first thing i touch in the morning & the last thing i touch at night (well most of the time

) its a very usable piece of kit & worth the money, mine doesnt crash. i use file manager to close running apps if memory gets tight.its NOT as delicate & fragile as people think, its just a bit different to get used to, when you do (takes a while) its the best thing on the market.
If some people in this thread dont rate the p800 then thats fine as you need to hear as many opinions as you can.

oh one more thing..
this is really strange, lots of ppl keep calling P800 crap, and they are so proud saying that they have sold their P800..
but the weirdest thing is.. if they hate P800 that much, why they are still here in P800 forum?

The P800 is the most versatile phone/PDA on the market today. Nothing else comes even close. Yes, Its pricey, but then ... you get what you pay for. I've had my phone for 4 months now and other than having to re-boot once or twice, its been a breeze. If you are looking for the future, this is it!

With regard to crashes - I have had my P800 for around 2 months. I have a 128Mb Duo and a bluetooth bud for my PC. I have installed most applications out there on at least a trial basis. I sync with Lotus Notes, I use GPRS/WAP, listen to MP3s/OGGs, read novels (on my 5th), etc. That is, I use the P800 to the max and I have had maybe 3 crashes, usually to do with a new application that has a memory leak, etc. (nothing to do with SE). These issues get fixed by the software authors pretty quickly anyway.
Overall the phone hardware is simply fantastic. If I am being reasonable and comparing with other devices then I couldn't really fault it - there are very few devices with this range of features and functionality. Sure there is room for improvement - IR range could be better, you should be able to upgrade firmware yourself, the speakerphone could work better as the echos are bad, battery life could be better, they could ship it with a stereo adapter for the headphones, etc. However if you look at any device at this level of detail you will find faults - usually much worse.
If there is anything that lets the P800 down it is the software that ships with the device but this can and is being improved. Examples include lack of anniversaries in the calender (but you can get Handy Dates to fix this), a less than ideal application UI (but Tracker is good here), etc. Most software issues will be resolved by either SE or third parties in short order.
I used to use a Palm V and a simple Nokia - any regrets in moving to a P800? Not one.
