I had that error. Finally saw that I had witten the wrong email addy in the setup. You know your own email addy. Not the ones you send to, but the one you send from! I had .com instead of .se and got that error. Check that one with yer phone company so its not misspelled.

i have the exact same problem although i very rarely send email out so haven't really bothered to try and figure it out. the thing is when replying to an email it works fine but if u add the exact same email address as a new email it deosn't work and comes up with the error message above.. some setting is wrong somewhere..

I've had the same problem and have found that if you log onto SonyEricsson.com and find their 'email configurator' section they will send you an SMS with all the correct settings in, which seems to work better than if you type the settings in yourself (bizarrely, as they should be the same).

Works with P800 & P900....

cheers
Helen.

Hi guys there seem to be quite a few threads with this issue, apparently some1 solved it in another thread using, instead of us ISP's outgoing mail server, use the service provider that ur on, i do believe however that using a dialup account solves it but many ppl want to wipe their free WAP minutes. heres how it works... get the auto msg from ur network (orange for example) on of the autosetups will contain an ip address format number, 192.168..etc etc, plug that in to ur outgoing mail server (using the full name, including http) and hopefully that works.

Ive not verified this method as my outgoing mail works fine from my dialup account so if it doesnt dont shoot the messenger, jus passing on a tip that seemed to work.

ok - i finally got this error message figured out . Some ISP's protect their Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server to prevent its use as a spam relay server - they don't allow you to send emails when you use another isp to connect to the internet. They authenticate using the ip address. so to send emails you need to find an email provider that uses smtp authentication.

I'm actually using Cox West, which uses SMTP, and I'm having the same sending problem. I can receive all email just fine, but when it comes to sending, I can only send to my Cox email address. Any ideas?
