Good grief, what is all this bullshit information and scare-mongering going on? If you don't know - don't pretend you do!
Orange will not cut you off or refuse to talk to you because you are using a different handset!
However, any Orange Care (which you don't have anyway, so it is immaterial) is voided by using a different SIM in the handset that is insured.
You will never have problems using either phone as a direct result of swapping the SIMs. However, problems do arise if the phone is lost or stolen, as you will have to report the phone AND the SIM card stolen separately. And they bar the wrong IMEI if you don't specify exactly what you've done (or maybe even if you do such is the extent of Orange's incompetence!)
Hope this clears up some misinformation

steady on mate, these are only people's opinons of the problem just like may other threads on this board, not everyone has the exact correct info all of the time so we all give speculation and opinon. Its the way a message board works! If no one posted because they did not have the eaxct info there would be very few posts at all. Hopefully out of all these posts he will be able to decide for himself and come to a conclusion. Take it easy
