My P800 crashes regularly - not just when I'm messaging. Seems to happen most when it's in my pocket, which is doubly frustrating as I don't know that it's crashed.

Any ideas on how to stop it crashing?

Well, have you thought of a software upgrade?

I had this start happening to me recently.

Slightly different though in that the phone would crash at random usually overnight and if I left it switched off overnight it would take about an hour to get it to start up without crashing.

When I took it back to my supplier I was asked all the usual questions and they started to do a format on the internal memory (Didn't mind as had backup from night before). They were saying "It will work fine now as all the problem software would have been removed". As he was about to click on the icon on the first screen.... It crashed... It had just been formatted and had NO software on it.

Problem was traced to faulty memory on the phone as it was crashing even while formatting after that.

Now I have a new phone from Orange and it has R2F firmware on it & not R1D (BTW where is SMS reciepts on this as I have no advanced under SMS)

1st thing to try is to backup your phone & reformat the memory. If it still crashes (without anything on software wise) then look at replacment, if its ok then look at OS upgrade or problem software

P.S. something I didn't know is that the Symbian OS is running when your phone is on charge, even when switched off!
