Hi! I have exactly the same problems as jhb:
Fair GPRS coverage in the daytime when I am on my work, and a very lousy if any, when I am at home (and when I really DO NEED a stable GPRS connection. Sad but true!
Besides my T68 takes minutes (5..10..!) to log on, even though there is a fair (80%) GSM coverage. I think it is an Ericsson problem.

Talked with my operator (Telia) and they confirmed that they had Nokia equipment in the base station system wher I live and that there are no problems where I work where they have Ericsson:) equipment...
They also confirmed that this is the reason that I often get my calls dropped when driving home from work.
