Haha! OK, countryslicker, I think you win!
This one made me laugh. "The phones released in Australia don't need the upgrade"
But, in case SE Australia has lost the magic wand that makes all aussie P800s perfect, I will definately recommend that you update your phone, just like the rest of us. I mean, you get a better phone for free! What's to loose?

Hoorah Hoorah.
Why didnb't I start this thread it is true I do belive that 9 out of 10 people who work for SE are complete idiots when it comes to knowing anything about SE products and related services. I dare anyone in these forums to disagree with me and I will give you the support numbers to dial and see for yourself. The only thing the SE guys are good for is telling you the price of the products and whether they have them in stock or not, Don't even try asking them about firmware upgrades or phone release dates the answers vary from Service centre to service centre, from Technician to technician and from country to country.
But Esato knows all so do your research here first and just tell SE what you want when you phone them.
By the way for the poster who wanted to know about his phone upgrade, R2D is not leaps and bounds better then R1D which was in itself pretty stable, but get it anyway just to assure your peace of mind and have full screen videos.
P800 and Esato Rocks!!

I had a problem with my SE, and i went to the service center. There was a lady sitting to attend me, & she dint know how to log a complain of a customer! She dint know how to spell english words properly! I used to get the error of Charging Alien Battery on my phone, and when i told her that she was lost. She dint know which world she was and what i was sayin. The funniest part was she dint even mention the complain on the job card. When she gave me the print out, i saw it dint have it, so i told her to mention it and she put "SAYING ELIN BATTERY"!!!!!!
I guess they were too dump and they just replaced the phone for me

(Atleast they did that

I have had similar experiences with SE support in Australia. They don't seem very knowledgeable, and tend to jump on the first thing that pops to mind as the solution.
I am having a complex problem at the moment with synching the P800 with Lotus Notes. It seems to finish correctly but no contacts or messages are in the P800. I can synch with some mail files and address books for testing purposes, but if the address book has more than 2000 message (it seems) it won't work. Mind you, this is only around 900k, so I'm certainly not running out of room.
The answers I've had so far, over about 4 calls, are:
- This is definitely the PC Suite software, download the new version and it'll work fine
- This is definitely the firmware, the upgrade to R2F fixes some problems with Notes synchronisation
- This is definitely the fact that Lotus Notes is not set as the default email program in Internet Options (loved that one!)
- Gee, I don't think there's a limit of 2000 records. I'll have our data specialist guy call you back (which he hasn't).
I can understand that the first two rule out plenty of things, and dutifully did as I was instructed by the support guys because, after all, I did ring them for help. My problem is that they don't seem to know their product.
Here's hoping I can get this sync working properly.
