yeah.. no optical zoom is what put me off the fx77... and aparantly the smart zoom is ratio is different depending on the image resolution and is not available at all at 4 megapixels.

This is true.
The maximum res is 4 megapixels and the zoom is digital, so what it does at "lower res" is sample a bit of a 4mp pic and that gives an effective zoom.

When I check BT services on my phone, I get "Imaging". I imagine that this is shorthand for Bluetooth Imaging Profile (BIP)

think you could upload to SE websites? anyway according to cnet, a new epson printer will also feature direct BIP ... so yeah this is catching on...
